Do you know how to prepare your CV / Resume?

Do you know how to prepare your CV / Resume?

You've finished college / University and you are now ready to apply for your first role.
You look for jobs both online and in the local papers.
They ask for your CV / Resume.

And you wonder to yourself - OMIGOD, how do I prepare my CV / Resume?

  • I don't have much experience?
  • I don't know what to say?
  • I'm not sure what to write?
  • What is the right things to write?
  • What information is relevant?
  • How long should my CV / Resume be (1 page, 2 pages .. or more)?

These and other questions are typical of people applying for jobs.

The question you need to ask yourself is 'How good is my CV / Resume' and is it 'good enough to get me the job I want'. Its not only the experience that will help you, its also what you say and write down.

For example, if you have experience in waiting tables and you are applying for an Admin role - what do you say? Do you apply for the role?

The correct answer is Yes - you do. You do apply for the role but what you say MUST be specific to the role you are applying. Even though you may believe that waiting tables is not experience for an Admin role, you would be surprised. As long as you have the correct attitude to work you can work anywhere and doing anything you want.

I hope this article helps you in some way and if it does - then I'm glad.
